Two retired seniors are leading what appears to be an idyllic life in a quiet leafy neighbourhood. But one day, when the gasman comes knocking to collect the bill, we get wind of the trouble brewing in their peaceful heaven. For the proud, respectable folk who had spent their entire lives earning honest livelihoods, the indignity of being short on their payments strikes a damning blow to their pride. Frustrated with the situation, and desperate to get a semblance of control over their lives, they undertake a road trip in their trusty old automobile. They find new adventures and do things they never dreamt they would do, even in their wildest dreams. With their newfound zest and confidence, they even start savouring the perilous trills of their new life, rekindling old sparks and refreshing some long-forgotten memories.

‘Bond and Clode’ is a feature script by screenwriter Zsolt Pozgai. The writer tells an adorable love story of Bond and Clode by way of a road trip and a crime thriller. This nonstop roller coaster ride of emotions takes us through various twists, turns, ups and downs, throwing up unexpected situations and characters at every corner. At no point does the writer loosens his grip over the story or his audience, taking them along for the ride through the vignettes of the eventful life of an honest middle-class couple unable to cope with the changed circumstances of the world today. Bond and Clode is a truly multifaceted story that has the potential to be a very touching love story just as much as it can be a gripping road movie or an exciting crime thriller.

‘Bond and Clode’ is standing testimony to the idea that ‘life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy when seen in long-shot.’ The story of the two adorable ‘Young-old’ people under extraordinary circumstances, rising to challenge life and to possibly have one last adventure before their time catches up with them is also a tragedy up close and a comedy in the long-shot.
