Charlie Horowitz and his buddies are enjoying the idyllic high school life; hanging out with friends, weekend wagers over card games and school dances. But when the enters into an altercation with the school bullies, Charlie Horowitz finds his life turned upside down in an instant. Reborn a different person with superpowers and demonic abilities, he returns from the beyond, to settle scores with his bullies. Smug with his newfound skills and at the havoc he wrecks on the enemy camp, Charlie does not realize that he is just a pawn in a much larger scheme laid out between heaven and hell. As he gets within hand’s reach of his final objective, he realizes that he has been manipulated all along. Does he get his revenge and aid his handlers in their convoluted schemes?
Charlie Horowitz is a script by writer Dhillon Fuhrman. Fuhrman crafts a story that transcends the boundaries of the living and the dead. When a murdered Charlie decides to accept help from Lucifer to exact revenge from his killers, he unknowingly makes a pact that the devil eventually bends to his benefit. When Charlie returns a couple of months later, the whole town is surprised at the changes that were evident in the new Charlie, Beefed up and with an eerie charm around him. With his newfound powers, he goes about eliminating his targets one by one, with the law enforcement agencies hot on the trail of the new serial killer in town.
Charlie Horowitz bends the lines between high-school drama, crime thriller and the satanic sub-genre. The film feeds us with food for thought about our role in pushing forth the good and the evil in the world and encourages us to contemplate on whether we can end up making a pact with the devil in a moment of weakness.
